Credit Hire Claims Handler

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with attendance at the London office once every two weeks

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of Third Party Property Damage and Credit Hire claims in line with established processes.
• Handle specialist credit hire claims, including taxi and motorbike hire, applying appropriate rates, hire periods, and agreements.
• Investigate liability and indemnity with policyholders, witnesses, and third parties, identifying recovery opportunities.
• Negotiate settlements, process payments, and set and maintain accurate claim reserves.
• Manage inbound communications, keep claimants and third parties informed, and maintain detailed claim-system notes.
• Complete claims-system housekeeping and ensure accurate records and next steps.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience managing Credit Hire and Third Party Property Damage claims.
• Experience handling specialist vehicle claims, including taxi and motorbike hire.
• Confidence negotiating settlements by phone and email.
• Knowledge of relevant case law and experience making liability and indemnity decisions.
• Experience setting and maintaining reserves and processing payments within agreed authority levels.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise effectively, and communicate clearly with claimants and third parties.
