Operational Risk Manager (Fintech)

Location: London; hybrid work with most teams meeting in the office 2–3 days per week

Salary: £71,559–£89,764 per year

What you will do

• Analyze structured and unstructured data to monitor risk performance and identify emerging patterns across the product portfolio.
• Translate analysis into recommendations supporting business and risk decisions.
• Run independent control testing and process reviews to assess the effectiveness of risk frameworks.
• Contribute to regulatory reporting and governance processes.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations to improve risk controls.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in fintech, banking, or consulting with a focus on risk management.
• Experience conducting independent data analysis for risk initiatives.
• Experience with control testing and process reviews in a risk or compliance function.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in Klarna’s markets and prior involvement in risk reporting.
• Ability to communicate risk findings clearly to stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations.
• CV submitted in English.

Nice to have

• Relevant certification such as CFE or CRCMP.
• Experience with data models, analytics techniques, or automated decision systems.
• Payments experience and a background in financial services.
• Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Data Science, or a related field.
