Backend Engineer (Java) - Trading

Location: Hong Kong, Singapore, or Taiwan. Remote-first, work-from-home arrangement; availability may vary depending on the role and team.

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into reliable services with solid code and meaningful tests.
• Build and maintain high-throughput distributed applications.
• Proactively tune performance and troubleshoot production incidents.
• Write and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 4 years of professional experience building high-throughput distributed applications.
• Proficiency in core Java, Spring Framework, MySQL, distributed system design, and at least one messaging middleware.
• Familiarity with at least one NoSQL database and its underlying design principles.
• Ability to collaborate with a remote team across different time zones and perform under pressure.
• Bilingual English and Mandarin required for coordination with overseas partners and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Performance tuning experience with the JVM, SQL, or RPC.
• Experience in KYC or compliance.
