Director of Analytics (AI)

Location: Remote in the United Kingdom only

Salary: £121,000–£137,000 per year, dependent on experience, plus stock options

What you will do

• Own the analytics architecture across the Snowflake warehouse, dbt transformation layer, and business intelligence reporting layer.
• Set and evolve the BI tooling strategy, evaluating platforms such as Sigma, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Hex, and Mode.
• Lead, hire, mentor, and develop analysts and analytics engineers.
• Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to define metrics, build self-service reporting, and scope analytical work.
• Establish data modeling standards, testing, governance, security, and role-based access controls.
• Build executive reporting on product availability, store performance, inventory accuracy, and other core business metrics.

Requirements

• 8+ years of analytics experience, including at least 3 years managing or leading a team.
• Deep hands-on SQL expertise, including complex CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
• Experience operating a cloud data warehouse; Snowflake experience is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or a comparable transformation layer.
• Experience evaluating, migrating, or scaling BI tools and explaining trade-offs between competing platforms.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work remotely across a distributed team.

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT, sensor, or computer-vision-derived data.
• Python experience for analytics engineering or pipeline work.
• Experience scaling an analytics function in a growth-stage startup.
• Background in retail, grocery, logistics, or other operationally complex environments.
• Experience mentoring managers.
