Deputy Director, NVPPA

Location: Fully remote, U.S.-based position; scheduling flexibility across U.S. time zones and occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $94,000–$105,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the launch and implementation of the National Virtual Program for Professional Advancement, ensuring intake, staffing, data tools, referrals, interpretation, and device support are ready.
• Oversee training, job development, placement support, professional advancement plans, and career navigation for enrolled participants.
• Manage compliance with Office of Refugee Resettlement requirements, federal award regulations, data protection, safeguarding, and organizational policies.
• Manage the program budget with the Finance Manager, oversee spending and closeout, and propose reallocations when needed.
• Configure and oversee Efforts to Outcomes as the system of record, monitor performance, and run quality assurance cycles for case files and assistance documentation.
• Recruit, onboard, supervise, and develop a fully remote team while coordinating with resettlement agencies, service providers, training organizations, employers, and government partners.

Requirements

• University degree in business, public administration, social work, economics, community development, or a related field; comparable work or lived experience may substitute.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience designing, developing, and implementing workforce, employment, or economic empowerment programs.
• At least 5 years of staff management experience, including remote or geographically distributed teams.
• Experience managing federally funded awards, compliance, reporting, client-level direct financial assistance, and internal controls.
• Understanding of refugee resettlement and employment services in the U.S. context, with the ability to launch programs quickly and manage budgets through spend-down.
• English fluency, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Experience with Office of Refugee Resettlement or other U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awards.
• Audit or funder monitoring experience.
• Experience with Efforts to Outcomes or a comparable client database.
• Familiarity with credential evaluation and professional licensing pathways.
