Procurement Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office: 2 days in Ely and 1 day in Cambridge. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Own and manage allocated suppliers and commodities across the procurement lifecycle.
• Lead sourcing activities including market analysis, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.
• Work with technology, regulatory, and marketing functions to define sourcing strategies and plans.
• Improve procurement processes through automated systems and AI where appropriate.
• Manage supply plans, inventory levels, service agreements, delivery performance, and procurement metrics.
• Deliver cost-of-goods savings and develop contingency plans to reduce supply risks.

Requirements

• Extensive procurement experience in technical manufacturing environments.
• Experience with complex medical devices, contract electronics or device manufacturers, precision electromechanical assemblies, motion and control systems, CNC products, or injection moulding.
• Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, data analysis, and project management skills.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems.
• Degree in a relevant discipline, suitable alternative, or relevant professional experience.
• Eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Nice to have

• Experience improving purchasing processes with AI, workflow automation, or other advanced tools.
• ISO 13485 experience.
• CIPS or another relevant professional qualification.
• Experience with robotic sub-assemblies.
• Willingness to travel globally when required.
