Junior Research Analyst – AI Server Hardware & Components

Location: Remote; Taiwan strongly preferred, with international candidates considered. Work hours: Office hours.

What you will do

• Track AI server and rack platform configurations across NVIDIA, AMD, Google TPU, AWS Trainium, and other custom accelerator systems.
• Build and maintain detailed bill-of-materials and component-content datasets covering compute, memory, storage, networking, power, cooling, PCBs, substrates, cables, and connectors.
• Analyze platform-generation changes, supplier positioning, market-share shifts, shipment trends, allocations, and rack integration across ODMs and OEMs.
• Conduct supply chain checks and develop relationships with ODMs, component suppliers, distributors, and other industry participants, especially in Taiwan.
• Monitor Taiwanese industry news, revenue disclosures, earnings calls, trade shows, and server ecosystem developments.
• Contribute to research notes, reports, newsletters, institutional client responses, and wider AI server supply chain research.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in industry analysis, equity research, supply chain analysis, hardware engineering, semiconductor research, or a related field.
• Familiarity with AI server hardware and the major components inside modern GPU servers or AI racks.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate, structured datasets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to draw conclusions from public information, industry checks, and supply chain sources.
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice to have

• Mandarin proficiency and familiarity with Taiwan’s ODM, component supplier, semiconductor, and electronics distribution ecosystem.
• Experience with server teardowns, bill-of-materials analysis, component cost estimation, or hardware benchmarking.
• Familiarity with NVIDIA and AMD AI server roadmaps, hyperscaler custom silicon, networking components, and datacenter power and cooling infrastructure.
• Experience following Taiwanese revenue disclosures, earnings reports, and supply chain news.
• Familiarity with Python for data analysis, automation, or dataset management.
