Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: GB - Reading, United Kingdom; hybrid work arrangement. Office attendance expectations will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable software solutions and clarify assumptions with stakeholders.
• Participate in system design, architecture, estimation, and technical documentation for product components.
• Develop, maintain, debug, and improve backend applications using coding standards and best practices.
• Create test plans, configure testing procedures, participate in code reviews, and resolve software defects.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, QA, operations, and compliance teams.
• Provide production support during weekday and weekend rotations, troubleshooting issues and deploying fixes under guidance.

Requirements

• Relevant professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of experience building and testing enterprise-scale web services.
• At least two years of experience in software systems or a directly related field.
• At least two years of experience developing or implementing backend applications.
• Experience with system design, debugging, code reviews, test planning, and software support.
• Ability to work with emerging technologies, including generative AI tools, cloud services, and automation frameworks.
