Technical Specialist (High Voltage Transformer/Switchgear Experience Needed)

What you will do

• Translate customer specifications, Australian regulatory requirements, and grid-specific needs into requirements for engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Validate technical scope during bidding and early project execution, identifying compliance gaps, missed requirements, and integration risks.
• Support the integration of high-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear and transformers within substation designs.
• Coordinate technical clarifications among customers, project managers, engineering teams, field service personnel, and global factories.
• Support discussions on substation design, secondary-system interfaces, testing, factory acceptance tests, and equipment integration.
• Maintain ownership of technical enquiries and consolidate technical responses, documentation, and escalation actions.

Requirements

• Approximately five to ten years of relevant experience in substation design and high-voltage and medium-voltage equipment integration.
• Strong understanding of switchgear and transformers within integrated substation designs.
• Knowledge of Australian electrical rules, high-voltage regulations, standards, and substation design requirements.
• Experience translating customer specifications into engineering, factory, and project execution actions.
• Experience in field service, technical support, engineering, consulting, documentation, analysis, or substation integration.
• Strong technical writing, documentation, analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to have

• Written and spoken Mandarin proficiency.
