Senior Power Systems Engineer

Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia — fully onsite, combining office-based engineering with hands-on work at project sites.

Salary: AUD 140,000–160,000 per annum, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Develop electrical designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for safe and reliable power systems.
• Conduct investigations, studies, and detailed power system analysis across industrial, mining, and utility projects.
• Manage project schedules and budgets while leading small engineering teams.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support site data collection, equipment configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Contribute to proposals and quotations while coaching and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and extensive experience in industrial power systems.
• Strong experience preparing design documentation, specifications, scopes of work, and technical reports.
• Ability to manage small project teams and communicate confidently with clients and contractors.
• RPEQ registration or active progress toward registration.
• Permanent working rights in Australia required.
• Experience with power system analysis and design; knowledge of Australian Standards and industrial HV systems is expected.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of power system analysis and design experience.
• Experience using PTW and/or ETAP.
• Experience designing industrial HV networks, protection systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Experience across heavy industries.
