Senior Power Systems Engineer

Location: Brisbane, Australia; office-based design work combined with hands-on site involvement.

Salary: AUD 140,000–160,000 per annum

What you will do

• Interpret client requirements and prepare design documents, drawings, scopes of work, risk assessments, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
• Conduct investigations, studies, and detailed analysis of industrial, mining, and utility power systems.
• Develop designs, configure and test equipment, troubleshoot systems, and support commissioning activities on site.
• Manage project schedules and budgets while preparing proposals and quotations.
• Work directly with clients and coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Lead small project teams and coach junior engineers.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering degree with extensive industrial power systems experience.
• Strong design, analysis, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage small project teams.
• RPEQ registration or progress toward achieving RPEQ.
• Preference for at least five years of experience in power system analysis and design.
• Permanent working rights in Australia required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.
• Experience with PTW and/or ETAP.
• Experience designing industrial HV networks and protection systems.
• Experience designing earthing and lightning protection systems.
