(Resident) Engineer, Mechanical Integration (Automotive)

Location: Nagoya, Aichi, Japan; hybrid work with office, manufacturing facility, and client-site presence

What you will do

• Provide customer-facing technical interface support for mechanical products throughout pursuit, development, integration, and production launch.
• Lead mechanical integration of products into customer vehicles and support vehicle builds and launches.
• Manage mechanical data releases through customer PDM, PLM, database, and product release systems.
• Maintain customer test benches with current product samples and troubleshoot issues across test benches, vehicles, and manufacturing plants.
• Support warranty-part analysis, field and dealership issues, and initial technical issue triage.
• Facilitate customer change management by entering requirements and responses, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking approvals.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer-facing or design engineering experience, or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical products, customer-specific PDM and PLM systems, and databases.
• Experience with mechanical CAD, specifically CATIA V5.
• Experience solving complex technical issues involving electronic and mechanical products integrated into vehicles.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate complex technical concepts with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in an office, manufacturing facility, and client-site environment and travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering field.
• Experience as a customer-facing, application, or design engineer for automotive electronics products.
• Direct experience with the applicable customer.
