Project Engineer (Engineering Manager)

What you will do

• Support the Project Director with engineering delivery for the Chereh floating solar photovoltaic project.
• Lead technical coordination for floating platforms, anchoring and mooring systems, reservoir interfaces, water-level changes, and long-term asset reliability.
• Review designs and technical deliverables covering PV modules, inverters, transformers, substations, transmission infrastructure, and balance of plant systems.
• Coordinate interfaces between EPC contractors, the Owner's Engineer, consultants, dam authorities, utilities, and other stakeholders.
• Provide field engineering support during construction, installation, testing, commissioning, inspections, FAT, and SAT activities.
• Track engineering progress, technical risks, design changes, interface issues, non-conformances, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in the power industry, preferably with an EPC contractor, developer, engineering firm, or technical consultant.
• Experience with floating Solar PV projects is highly advantageous.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of solar renewable power market players, components, execution trends, and project delivery challenges.
• Ability to prioritize actions, coordinate diverse stakeholders, and manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Malaysian regulations, utility requirements, environmental permits, lender requirements, and project agreements.

Nice to have

• Chartered Engineer status, such as IET, EUR Ing, or PEng.
• Project Management certification, such as PMP or PRINCE2.
