What you will do

• Own the end-to-end UX, interaction model, and on-product interfaces for new hardware products.
• Partner with industrial design on UI placement, controls, labeling, ergonomics, and physical feedback.
• Work with product and engineering teams to resolve hardware and technology constraints.
• Build and run usability testing with physical prototypes and apply findings to product improvements.
• Document UI layouts, interaction specifications, state diagrams, and UI asset packages for firmware and engineering teams.
• Improve hardware UX processes using AI and emerging technologies while contributing to a shared design system.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing user experiences for physical products.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant hardware UX design work.
• Experience designing within constraints such as display resolution, color depth, physical button counts, BOM cost, certification requirements, and tooling timelines.
• Hands-on usability research with physical prototypes and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Rhino is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Working familiarity with SolidWorks or Rhino.
• Experience using AI tools for concept exploration, asset production, process improvement, and documentation.
