UX Technical Designer III (Aerospace)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States

Base pay for Washington applicants: $141,162–$197,626.80 annually.

What you will do

• Lead discovery and research to define the right problems for mission operators and engineers.
• Design end-to-end user experiences, including user flows, wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypes in Figma.
• Engage directly with operators to understand workflows, pain points, scenarios, and task requirements.
• Improve software quality, consistency, accessibility, and design-system foundations while resolving design debt.
• Partner with engineering to communicate design specifications, account for technical constraints, and support high-quality implementation.
• Contribute to an inclusive culture through constructive collaboration and feedback.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped products rather than concept work.
• Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on Product Designer experience.
• High proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience designing complex, technical, data-dense, safety-critical, or mission-critical applications.
• Experience building or contributing to a robust design system and applying WCAG accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum practices.
• Experience with Git, Qt/QML, or code authoring for testing and integration.
