Chief Financial Officer (SaaS)

Location: Remote in Canada or the United States; travel to the Ottawa headquarters and Toronto hub is required.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the FP&A and Accounting functions, setting priorities and ensuring accurate, timely work.
• Improve finance processes, data quality, systems, automation, and internal controls.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, financial models, reporting, audits, and board materials.
• Partner with the CEO, executive team, and Board on pricing, investment, headcount, market expansion, capital strategy, and investor communications.
• Prepare the business for future financing or strategic events and evaluate acquisitions and partnerships.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including prior scale-up CFO experience.
• Experience scaling SaaS or technology companies from approximately $50M to $200M+ in revenue.
• Deep FP&A expertise with strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
• Experience with late-stage fundraising, such as Series C/D/E, or public markets.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS metrics, recurring revenue models, GAAP/IFRS, compliance frameworks, and audit oversight.
• Must be a Canadian or American citizen, or eligible to work in Canada or the United States; a criminal records check is required upon hire.

• M&A experience covering due diligence, valuation, and post-close integration.
• Experience with Canadian companies operating in the United States and internationally, including multi-currency and cross-border tax considerations.

Hiring process

• Introductory call with the Talent Team followed by an interview with the Hiring Manager.
• Interviews with the Senior Director of People & Culture and Chief Corporate & Legal Officer.
• Final interviews with two Board members, reference checks, offer, and onboarding.
