Construction, VP

Location: On-site at the Monarch Project Site in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, United States; extensive site presence and regular travel to project sites, corporate headquarters, and stakeholder meetings required.

Salary: $230,000–$410,000 USD base salary per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and/or commission.

What you will do

• Lead construction execution strategy for a multi-billion-dollar power generation and data center infrastructure program.
• Build and manage construction organizations across multiple mega-project sites, including construction management, field engineering, safety, and QA/QC functions.
• Own master schedules, critical-path risk mitigation, contingency planning, progress reporting, and schedule recovery.
• Oversee construction budgets, cost forecasting, change orders, contract strategy, claims avoidance, and lender or investor reporting.
• Manage EPC contractors, major subcontractors, utility and grid stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and data center owner or operator teams.
• Maintain accountability for safety, quality, code compliance, commissioning, startup readiness, and program-level risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or construction management, or 15+ years of progressive construction management experience.
• At least 5 years of senior executive construction leadership experience on projects exceeding $1 billion in total installed cost.
• Direct experience with power plant construction, large-scale data center construction, or comparable critical infrastructure programs.
• Proven experience managing EPC contracts, multi-contractor environments, complex commercial negotiations, utility interconnection, grid codes, and substation or transmission construction.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification required; PE license or PMP certification preferred.
• Ability to work under compressed schedules and respond to critical schedule, safety, or quality events outside standard hours.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering behind-the-meter or co-located generation assets for data center or hyperscale clients.
• Familiarity with Tier III/IV data center reliability standards and power delivery redundancy.
• Experience with modular or phased power plant deployment and private equity or infrastructure fund ownership structures.
