Construction Manager, Power Generation - Memphis (Power Generation)

Location: Full-time onsite role based in Southaven, Mississippi, supporting the Memphis/Southaven plant; relocation required. Travel, evening, and weekend work may be required according to site operational needs.

What you will do

• Lead construction activities for the Memphis/Southaven power generation plant and serve as the senior site representative.
• Manage EPC contractors, OEMs, trade partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders across civil, mechanical, process, and electrical scopes.
• Oversee project execution from pre-construction and site development through mechanical completion, commissioning, energization, and operational turnover.
• Coordinate gas turbine packages, generators, fuel gas and balance-of-plant systems, e-houses, protection systems, and 34.5 kV collection/export infrastructure.
• Track schedule, quality, safety, cost, and operational readiness using field verification, quantity take-offs, KPIs, and dashboards.
• Lead commissioning, start-up, punch-list close-out, change-order management, and site safety initiatives including LOTO, NFPA 70E, arc-flash, and hot-work controls.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing large-scale power generation, industrial plant, or mission-critical construction projects.
• Deep expertise in construction management, commissioning, and site operations.
• Experience leading complex programs with multiple vendors and dynamic priorities.
• Ability to build trust with contractors, OEMs, vendors, partners, and technical teams while communicating across disciplines.
• Ability to travel as needed and work in environments with noise exposure; ability to lift 25+ pounds.
• Pre-employment drug testing, random drug and alcohol testing, and pre-employment and annual post-employment background checks are required.

Nice to have

• Experience constructing or expanding gas turbine, combined-cycle, or similar generating plants.
• Experience with medium-voltage electrical construction, switchgear, transformers, e-houses, protection, and mechanical/process balance-of-plant systems.
• Experience with OEM turbine package installation, interconnection, and commissioning support.
• Experience with power plants serving data centers, hyperscale facilities, or other high-reliability industrial loads.
• Familiarity with Memphis/Mississippi building codes, utility interconnection, and plant permitting.
