Construction Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Cherokee, Alabama, United States; on-site. Must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements under ITAR, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations. Relocation support may be provided in certain situations based on business need.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific construction quality assurance plan.
• Establish inspection protocols, acceptance criteria, hold points, witness points, and documentation requirements.
• Provide field-level quality oversight across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, utilities, and equipment-support scopes.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, design revisions, manufacturer requirements, codes, and standards.
• Identify, document, track, and close construction deficiencies and Non-Conformance Reports in coordination with contractors, engineers, and testing agencies.
• Verify critical work before concealment, concrete placement, equipment installation, energization, startup, and turnover, while supporting commissioning activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or a related technical field; equivalent construction experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of progressive construction experience with significant responsibility for quality assurance, quality control, field engineering, inspection, superintendent, or construction management.
• Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, mission-critical, or technically complex construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, design revisions, sequencing, inspections, testing, documentation, and deficiency management.
• Ability to evaluate field conditions independently, determine compliance, communicate technical issues, and manage multiple concurrent scopes in an active construction environment.
• Must satisfy applicable U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• 12+ years of construction experience with increasing responsibility for construction quality and field execution.
• Experience with industrial manufacturing, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, automotive, data center, heavy industrial, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with brownfield redevelopment, equipment foundations, manufacturing equipment installation, industrial building systems, commissioning, and turnover.
• Familiarity with ACI, ASTM, AWS, ASME, NFPA, NEC, IBC, ISO 9001, or similar standards and quality systems.
• USACE CQM-C, ASQ CQA/CQE, OSHA 30-hour Construction, or comparable certifications.
