Lead Design Technologist (AI)

Location: San Francisco, Mountain View, or Seattle, United States; Remote, Americas. The role prefers candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area or on the US West Coast, but hiring is possible in any country where hirify.global has a legal entity.

Base salary: $159,858–$208,704 in Zone C, $173,340–$226,305 in Zone B, or $192,600–$251,450 in Zone A, plus potential benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Deliver scalable design technology solutions across multiple workstreams and domains.
• Build foundational tools, components, prototypes, motion experiences, and AI-native workflows for product builders.
• Improve design workflows through custom tooling, automation, AI, and LLMs.
• Lead rapid prototyping, user testing, and collaboration with product, engineering, and accessibility experts.
• Create blueprints and models that communicate complex design concepts.
• Mentor designers and technologists while driving adoption of design technology best practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience leading a design or design technology craft domain.
• Advanced skills in front-end engineering concepts, JavaScript frameworks, prototyping, and motion design.
• Experience building interactive rich-media experiences with strong motion, interaction design, and visual craft.
• Fluency in AI product-building workflows, including agentic loops, generative UI/UX, evaluations, and context engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AI tools and integrations with visual design tools such as Figma.
• Experience mentoring, communicating complex concepts, driving cross-functional projects, and influencing stakeholders.
