Location: USA — Remote — Washington. Salary: $94,100–$123,480 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical expert for on-wafer semiconductor measurements and silicon photonics test applications.
• Translate customer requirements, technology roadmaps, and market trends into product requirements and development priorities.
• Lead application definition, validation, demonstrations, and testing throughout the product life cycle.
• Design and analyze complex experiments for product performance and customer use cases.
• Develop application methodologies, best practices, technical documentation, training programs, demonstrations, and laboratory exercises.
• Support strategic customer engagements, research initiatives, technology pathfinding, industry forums, and multidisciplinary projects while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree or PhD in physics, optics, electrical engineering, materials science, photonics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in applications engineering, field applications engineering, technical sales, or customer-facing technical support.
• Knowledge of semiconductor wafer probing systems, automated test environments, semiconductor test methodologies, test automation, and advanced characterization.
• Experience with silicon photonics technologies, including waveguides, optical transceivers, photodiodes, VCSELs, beam optics, and integrated photonic circuits.
• Familiarity with high-volume semiconductor manufacturing, process technologies, advanced packaging, and product commercialization.

Nice to have

• German, Korean, or Mandarin Chinese proficiency.
