Principal Engineer - Physical Design (Semiconductor)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; company headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

What you will do

• Own RTL-to-GDS physical implementation flows, including synthesis, floor planning, place and route, clock tree synthesis, timing and power closure, EM/IR, physical design validation, and final sign-off.
• Lead physical design and implementation for high-performance designs from block level through system-level components.
• Collaborate with micro-architects on performance, power, and area trade-offs for high-performance and low-power designs.
• Conduct physical implementation feasibility studies and develop design recommendations, methodologies, and recipes.
• Perform timing, power, EM/IR, and other physical design validation flows.
• Run DRC, LVS, and other physical verification checks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in physical design, project engineering, design engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience with floor planning, physical design validation, clock trees, physical design flow automation, ICC, and SoC architecture.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United States.
