Senior GPU Physical Design Engineer

Location: Hybrid work in Folsom, California, with additional locations in Santa Clara, California, and Hillsboro, Oregon

Annual salary: $164,470–$232,190 USD

What you will do

• Implement GPU physical designs from RTL to GDS, including synthesis, placement, routing, and clock tree synthesis.
• Perform static timing analysis, layout verification, formal equivalence checking, and other signoff activities.
• Analyze design results and optimize power, frequency, and area in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Develop physical design methodologies and automate design flows.
• Define requirements and implement tailored methodologies for GPU development on advanced process nodes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 4+ years; or a PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience with ASIC design flows, including floorplanning, synthesis, place and route, and layout verification.
• Advanced experience with Fusion Compiler, Genus/Innovus, ICC-DP, PrimeTime, StarRC, and Formality.
• Advanced scripting skills in Tcl, Python, or similar languages for flow automation and optimization.
• Experience with GPU physical design challenges, SoC integration, timing closure, and power, performance, and area optimization.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and tool and flow development methodologies.
