Senior Software Engineer (Vue)

Location: United States only; remote, hybrid, or office-based in Franklin, Tennessee

Rustici Software develops eLearning standards-based software that helps vendors and organizations create, deliver, and distribute online learning content using standards such as SCORM, xAPI, and cmi5.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve mature software products, ancillary tools, interfaces, implementations, and development processes.
• Write technical specifications for larger features before implementation.
• Take new features from planning through development, code review, testing, and QA.
• Identify product improvements and new work using customer feedback and independent engineering judgment.
• Participate in weekly standups and deeper technical discussions with the team.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and continuously improve technical practices.

Requirements

• Strong web application development experience with Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• Experience building frontend single-page applications with Vue, React, or a similar framework, including HTML and CSS.
• Experience implementing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, including agile methods, estimation, version control, QA, and release management.
• Experience with technical or functional specifications, mentoring, and collaboration across support, product, and operations teams.
• Must be based in the United States; direct hire only.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unix command-line tools.
• Experience deploying web applications in AWS.
• Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, Docker, or Cursor AI.
