Staff Software Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Salary: $174,000–$262,000 per year, plus annual performance bonus and long-term incentives

What you will do

• Own the technical architecture of the next-generation design system, including module formats, packaging, peer dependencies, publishing to Artifactory and CDN, and micro frontend version coexistence.
• Define versioning, deprecation, breaking-change, release, build, and migration strategies for libraries used by more than 60 repositories.
• Build testing and quality systems, including automated visual regression, accessibility validation, and a token pipeline that keeps design and code aligned.
• Architect the design system for compliant and accessible frontend code generated by AI coding agents.
• Own reliability and incident response for new and legacy libraries, including severity and escalation models.
• Drive frontend standards through architecture and code reviews, documentation, coaching, hands-on implementation, and cross-team alignment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating frontend systems used by other engineering teams.
• Technical leadership across multiple teams or domains, with the ability to define direction and influence without formal authority.
• Strong experience with architecture, security, reliability at scale, and translating business goals into technical strategy.
• Deep React and TypeScript experience, including ownership of build and release tooling for published packages.
• Deep knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS, and accessible component patterns.
• Strong mentorship, communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building and maintaining a design system used by multiple teams.
• Fluency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
• Experience planning large-scale design system migrations and modernizing legacy frontend systems.
• Experience setting accessibility standards with automated validation.
