Vue-First Frontend (SSR)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days in the office per week in Austin, Texas or Columbus, Ohio, United States

Movoto, part of the Lower family, operates a high-scale real estate search and marketplace platform serving 5–10 million active users per month.

What you will do

• Design and maintain high-performance Vue 3 and server-side rendered applications.
• Optimize SSR pipelines, hydration, bundle splitting, dynamic imports, tree-shaking, and rendering strategies.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, Time to Interactive, JavaScript execution, Node.js SSR throughput, concurrency, and caching.
• Use Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, WebPageTest, real-user monitoring, flame graphs, CPU profiles, and memory snapshots to identify performance issues.
• Ensure SSR output, structured data, and metadata support crawlability, indexability, SEO, and organic growth.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, testing, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and AI-assisted development standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building modern, high-traffic web applications.
• Strong JavaScript expertise and experience with Vue.js or React.
• Experience with Node.js, SSR environments, browser rendering, Virtual DOM performance, reactivity systems, hydration, code splitting, and tree-shaking.
• Proven performance optimization experience for large-scale consumer applications, including Core Web Vitals, CDN, caching, and asset optimization.
• Experience with automated testing, SEO implications of SSR, and AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with remote or distributed teams using async-friendly practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in real estate, marketplaces, or other high-scale consumer platforms.
• Production Node.js performance tuning experience.
• Familiarity with edge computing or CDN configuration.
