Senior ServiceNow CMDB Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Washington, D.C. 20036; Arlington, VA is also listed as an additional location. U.S. citizenship is required for the federal contract.

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Design, configure, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow configurations, custom applications, workflows, and enhancements.
• Implement and mature the CMDB through CI class and data model design aligned with CSDM, Discovery configuration, and identification and reconciliation rules.
• Establish CMDB health, data quality, governance, and overall ServiceNow platform stability.
• Build advanced Service Catalog items, client scripts, UI policies, Flow Designer automations, and integrations using REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHub.
• Optimize ITSM modules including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management.
• Participate in client discussions, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and maintain testing, release, and design documentation.

Requirements

• Active Secret or higher security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• At least 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experience.
• Experience implementing or maturing a CMDB, including Discovery and data reconciliation.
• Strong server-side and client-side JavaScript skills, including Glide APIs, Business Rules, and Script Includes.
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification, Service Catalog, workflow, integration, and Agile/Scrum experience.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow CIS certification, particularly CIS-Discovery, CIS-ITSM, or CIS-Service Mapping.
• Federal or defense contracting experience in classified, air-gapped, or isolated networks.
• Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and STIG security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with release coordination, version control, automated testing, and ServiceNow ATF.
