Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care & On-Demand Telehealth (Build & Scale 24/7 Service) (AI)

Salary: $335,000–$387,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Develop and evolve the vision for a 24/7 Care OnDemand service line, including AI-enabled digital care channels.
• Design the clinical architecture and care model across virtual urgent care, primary care extension, and the virtual observation unit.
• Provide direct patient care and support clinical escalations.
• Lead clinical managers and indirectly oversee RNs, NPs, and physicians across the service.
• Manage clinical vendors and supporting technology, including mobile radiology and mobile phlebotomy.
• Coordinate with network leaders, community primary care practices, internal teams, and marketing to ensure continuity of care and service utilization.

Requirements

• Board certification in emergency medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine, with 5+ years of clinical practice.
• Willingness to continue practicing in a virtual care setting.
• Experience leading and managing clinicians, including advanced practice providers.
• Experience building or scaling a clinical program or service line.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, data, and other clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Experience designing population-health interventions and measuring care quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with virtual care, Medicare populations, or urgent care.
• Experience working with AI-enabled healthcare technology.
