Security Researcher (AI Security)

Location: In-person in San Francisco, United States

Salary: $200,000–$500,000 base salary per year plus meaningful equity

What you will do

• Drive the roadmap for cybersecurity evaluations and environments using the company’s cybersecurity capability map.
• Build and run the production systems that generate cybersecurity environments.
• Recruit, onboard, and manage part-time cybersecurity experts reviewing environments for fairness, correctness, and quality.
• Work with researchers at frontier AI labs to understand their cybersecurity data needs and sell suitable environments.
• Lead the company’s cybersecurity work and potentially transition to another internal project if investment in cybersecurity changes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional cybersecurity experience with a reputation placing you among the top 5% of peers.
• Hands-on experience in at least one of web application penetration testing, bug bounty hunting, vulnerability or zero-day research, hacking agents, or AI security.
• Strong connections within the security community.
• Ability to write and ship production code in Python, TypeScript, or a similar language.
• Strong written communication skills for explaining prioritization decisions and research findings.
• Ability to work in person in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Public bug bounty results, live hacking event invitations, Pwn2Own placements, or published original research.
• Experience managing or mentoring security researchers or hackers.
• Experience designing ways to measure or grade security work beyond pass/fail evaluation.
• Tools or automation built to support personal security research.
