Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA; 25–50% travel required

What you will do

• Work with customer business and technical teams to identify valuable use cases and define scope, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
• Design and build data integrations, business logic, APIs, applications, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Deliver production software with tests, clear interfaces, access controls, and deployment approaches aligned with Engineering.
• Validate outputs against source data and business rules, evaluate AI behavior, and confirm accuracy, usability, and business value with users.
• Monitor deployments, resolve issues, document systems, and establish ongoing support models.
• Partner with account, Product, and Engineering teams to turn successful customer solutions into reusable practices and capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience personally shipping and maintaining production software.
• Ability to work independently across backend and application logic, data models, APIs, testing, debugging, reliability, permissions, and failure cases.
• Experience with Python and SQL, plus full-stack development using TypeScript, React, or comparable tools.
• Experience with enterprise data and API integrations, applied AI or agent workflows, and rigorous evaluation.
• Ability to understand ambiguous customer problems, communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, and take ownership of outcomes.
• Experience in manufacturing, quality, reliability, supply chain, or service operations is particularly valuable.
