Payroll Specialist

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; onsite five days a week

What you will do

• Process assigned U.S. payroll populations across applicable payroll frequencies, from input preparation and calculation review through settlement, disbursement, and post-payroll activities.
• Process and audit multi-state payrolls in compliance with federal, state, and local tax, wage-and-hour, reporting, and organizational requirements.
• Research and resolve discrepancies involving earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, time data, employee status changes, payment elections, transfers, and adjustments.
• Execute payroll controls, exception reviews, audits, reconciliations, and payroll-related financial or general ledger activities.
• Use Workday Payroll reporting, worker data, EIB functionality, and Microsoft Excel to analyze data and validate results.
• Manage payroll cases, support quarter-end and year-end activities, and improve procedures, workflows, controls, and documentation.

Requirements

• At least three years of progressive payroll processing experience, including complex payroll activities.
• Experience with end-to-end multi-state payroll processing, including calculations, validations, reconciliations, corrections, and post-payroll activities.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) required.
• Knowledge of payroll administration, payroll accounting, taxation, wage-and-hour requirements, benefits deductions, final pay, and confidential payroll practices.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Must work onsite five days per week in Irving, Texas.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of experience processing complex payrolls for large employee populations or multiple payroll groups.
• Experience with Workday Payroll and Workday HCM, including payroll reporting, payroll-result analysis, and EIB preparation and troubleshooting.
• Experience implementing payroll process improvements, automation, standardization, controls, or operational efficiencies.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-country operational environment.
