EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Compliance Engineer

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States

Salary: $70,000–$85,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead environmental, health, and safety programs in compliance with regulations and corporate standards.
• Deliver EHS training and promote workforce compliance and engagement.
• Collect, analyze, and report data related to chemicals, noise, emissions, and waste.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvements.
• Develop EHS policies, procedures, gap assessments, audit programs, permits, and reporting systems.
• Support emergency response, regulatory coordination, audits, and collaboration with site and corporate EHS teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; environmental science, safety, chemical engineering, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Approximately 3 years of manufacturing-related environmental, health, and safety experience preferred.
• Experience managing hazardous waste and hazardous materials transportation.
• Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, interpret EHS data, and recommend risk-reduction measures.
• Experience writing EHS programs, performing gap assessments, prioritizing findings, and conducting regulatory compliance training.
• Ability to work onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, and access U.S. export-controlled information.
