Backend Engineer (Golang/Kubernetes)

Location: Canada; remote-friendly work environment across a globally distributed company operating in more than 25 countries.

Salary: $147,000–$215,000 USD annually for general US locations; $167,000–$238,000 USD annually for premium US locations. Equity is offered.

ClickHouse is a rapidly scaling startup building ClickHouse and the ClickPipes data onboarding platform.

What you will do

• Enhance and scale the high-performance ClickPipes platform for real-time data onboarding at petabyte scale.
• Own infrastructure across AWS, with expansion to GCP and Azure.
• Improve deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, and operational processes.
• Contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions affecting scalability and resilience.
• Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot production incidents, and improve systems using operational metrics and customer feedback.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience as a backend engineer.
• Strong experience with Golang, Kubernetes, Terraform or a comparable infrastructure-as-code tool.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture and at least one major cloud service provider.
• Strong production debugging, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and customer-focused problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in a high-velocity environment.
