Staff Backend Engineer (Golang)

Location: Remote within the United States; offices are available in Seattle and Paris for connection and collaboration.

Salary: $170,350–$275,550 annually plus equity.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and operate high-scale distributed systems powering hirify.global Hub’s registry platform.
• Design artifact storage, metadata services, indexing workflows, and performance-critical backend APIs.
• Lead initiatives involving multi-region replication, caching, request-path optimization, and registry reliability.
• Design and optimize relational, NoSQL, and object-storage layers for high-throughput workloads.
• Improve observability, deployment tooling, and operational practices using metrics, traces, alerting, dashboards, Argo CD, and GitHub Actions.
• Mentor engineers, lead architecture reviews, collaborate with Product, Design, SRE, and Platform teams, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems and large-scale backend architectures.
• Strong production experience with Golang and Kubernetes in cloud environments.
• Experience designing and operating high-scale storage systems such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or equivalent.
• Experience building and operating cloud-based services; AWS experience is preferred.
• Experience with event-driven or streaming systems such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with OCI registries, artifact stores, or large-scale content distribution systems.
• Familiarity with search and indexing systems or metadata-rich architectures.
• Contributions to cloud-native or open-source ecosystems.
