Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada

Salary: US$130,000–$180,000 or CA$140,000–CA$200,000, plus equity and bonus

What you will do

• Build and maintain high-performance backend systems in Go for the hirify.global Platform.
• Work deeply with Kubernetes internals, including architecture, networking, storage, and container orchestration.
• Design scalable tenancy models for workload isolation and resource sharing.
• Own feature development end to end, from technical design through release.
• Contribute to open-source projects and engage with the Kubernetes community.
• Solve complex systems architecture and infrastructure challenges autonomously.

Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience with strong backend development skills.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes internals, architectural patterns, networking, and storage.
• Strong programming skills in Go and the ability to write clean, efficient, resilient code.
• A self-driven builder mindset demonstrated through GitHub projects, experiments, or open-source contributions.
• Experience working autonomously in a high-growth environment with ambiguity.
• Must be eligible to work remotely from the United States or Canada.

Nice to have

• Contributions to the upstream Kubernetes project through documentation, pull requests, or Special Interest Groups.
• Experience at an early-stage startup.
