Staff Software Engineer (Go/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote-first within the United States, with locations in Seattle, WA or Palo Alto, CA

Salary: $170,350–$275,550 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Design and build systems that deploy, release, and operate hirify.global's agentic platform for enterprise customers using Go and Kubernetes.
• Ensure consistent operation across cloud providers and environments with enterprise-grade security, identity, and network boundaries.
• Own the release and software supply chain path so deployments are reproducible, verifiable, and trusted.
• Operate production systems through on-call responsibilities, SLOs, incident response, and operational tooling.
• Set technical direction with architects and engineering leadership while collaborating with runtime, developer experience, identity, and observability teams.
• Improve engineering standards through design reviews, testing discipline, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or cloud services.
• Experience building and operating a cloud control or management plane for multiple tenants or environments in production.
• Advanced Kubernetes experience, including controllers, operators, reconciliation, and custom resource definitions.
• Hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud across compute, networking, identity, and managed services.
• Professional proficiency in Go; the team's backend code is written in Go.
• Experience with distributed systems, production ownership, on-call, incident response, SLOs, fault tolerance, consistency, observability, and idempotent reconciliation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes resource orchestration and cloud controllers such as KRO.
• Release engineering and software supply chain experience, including OCI registries, digests, and license compliance.
• PrivateLink, VPC peering, service endpoints, or egress policy experience.
• OpenTelemetry pipelines with multiple destinations.
• Experience building managed services or working with Firecracker, microVMs, or isolated execution environments for untrusted code.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
