Counsel, Employment - International (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Provide strategic employment-law advice across EMEA and APAC throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, compensation, performance management, leave, and termination.
• Lead works council, employee consultation, labor relations, workplace investigation, and complex employee relations matters.
• Advise on workforce changes, reorganizations, restructurings, global mobility, Employer of Record models, contingent workforce compliance, and M&A matters.
• Draft and localize employment agreements, separation packages, handbooks, and compliance policies while overseeing employee data and workforce privacy compliance.
• Coordinate multi-jurisdictional advice, manage local counsel, and handle employment disputes, litigation strategy, agency investigations, and tribunal claims.
• Use AI-powered tools to improve legal research, drafting, knowledge management, and self-service playbooks.

Requirements

• Licensed and qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
• 5–8 years of post-qualification experience specializing in employment law within a reputable firm or global in-house legal department.
• Substantial expertise in UK and EMEA employment law, with practical experience or willingness to expand support across APAC.
• Experience with works councils, workforce consultations, restructurings, complex employee relations, sensitive investigations, and employment disputes.
• Ability to translate complex cross-border legal issues into clear, commercially aligned, risk-adjusted advice.
• Experience supporting a high-growth technology, SaaS, or marketplace business and building scalable legal processes, playbooks, and training resources, including the use of AI tools or workflow automation.
