Lead Software Developer (IoT)

Location: Flexible hybrid work based in Oakville, Toronto, or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $116,200–$155,000 CAD annual base salary

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain secure, reusable, high-throughput, and scalable software.
• Lead development of scalable code, prototypes, minimum viable products, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Own complex, long-term projects from scope and requirements through implementation, communication, and timely delivery.
• Identify architecture improvements, evaluate technical solutions, and contribute to product and team roadmaps.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, product managers, technical teams, customers, and external stakeholders on cross-product features.
• Mentor developers, conduct code reviews and technical training, document system architecture, and provide expert project leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience developing and supporting production software with C#/.NET.
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in software design and architecture for large production systems, including schedulers, report generation, templates, and dashboards.
• Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, database design and optimization, and production diagnosis using tools such as BigQuery and Sentry.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, ES6, jQuery, and front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Node.js, or Vue.js, including UI/UX design.
• Strong Git, analytical, project management, communication, mentoring, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
