Claims Specialist

Location: Remote, with travel to hirify.global sites up to 50% of the time. Listed locations include Livonia, Michigan; Columbus, Ohio; Syracuse, New York; Davenport, Iowa; and Maywood, Illinois.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve Professional Liability, General Liability, and Employment Practices Liability claims.
• Assess standard of care, liability, causation, damages, witness credibility, expert opinions, reserves, and claim value.
• Develop claim resolution strategies with defense counsel and claims management, and negotiate settlements within delegated authority.
• Retain and supervise outside defense counsel, review legal recommendations, and approve defense fees and litigation expenses.
• Represent facilities and hirify.global at case evaluations, settlement conferences, mediation, and trial.
• Monitor Medicare Secondary Payer compliance, maintain claim documentation, and identify loss control and risk reduction opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and experience as a liability claims professional adjuster or hospital risk manager, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of professional liability, general liability, and employment practices liability claims management.
• Working knowledge of medical and/or employment law terminology.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, manage changing priorities, and collaborate in a shared-leadership environment.
• Ability to travel to various hirify.global sites up to 50% of the time and perform moderate physical activity, including lifting and bending.
