Claim Representative, General Liability

Location: Hybrid; Centennial, Colorado, with other locations in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Phoenix, Arizona. Role based in the United States.

Annual base salary: $67,000–$110,600.

What you will do

• Manage active low- to moderate-complexity general liability claims from first notice of loss through resolution.
• Investigate coverage, liability exposure, bodily injury, and property damage; establish reserves and issue accurate payments.
• Communicate professionally with customers, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Negotiate claim settlements, handle low-complexity litigation, and resolve coverage or contractual indemnity issues.
• Maintain accurate claim activity records and adapt to new claims systems, AI tools, and digital technology.
• Provide training and coaching to less experienced claims professionals when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma/GED, depending on qualification route.
• At least one year of bodily injury liability, property damage liability, or comparable claims experience; two years of comparable experience is preferred.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law, with relevant insurance licenses to be obtained within three months of starting.
• Experience with claims management systems, Microsoft Office, and enterprise technology platforms.
• Strong communication, analytical, decision-making, customer service, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of insurance principles, policy language, state regulations, claims handling requirements, and fair claims practices.
