Device Engineering Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: United States; remote

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of device engineers and reverse engineers.
• Define the technical strategy for device coverage and prioritize reverse engineering investment across devices and protocols.
• Set standards for protocol and device documentation, fingerprints, profiles, and automated tests.
• Automate device-model authoring, profile creation, firmware and vulnerability data collection, and capture-based test replay.
• Collaborate with product management, technical leads, security research, threat research, and customer-facing teams to deliver device support.
• Own production support for customer-managed and on-premises deployments, participate in incident response, and debug production issues directly.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering management experience, including Agile and cross-functional Product Team environments.
• Strong technical background in software interacting with embedded, IoT, and OT/ICS devices.
• Prior engineering experience with Node, TypeScript, Go, Python, relational databases, Docker, and Unix/Linux systems-level debugging.
• Experience leading or closely collaborating with reverse engineers on protocol or firmware analysis.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP, authentication schemes, and embedded and industrial protocols.
• Experience shipping software to customer-managed or on-premises infrastructure and using AI-assisted development tools with appropriate judgment.
