Lead Technical Trainer (PV/BESS)

Location: Hybrid, US, Flexible, CA; travel up to 25% required

Salary: $110,000–$137,700 per year, plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Develop and deliver technical training for solar, wind, and battery energy storage technicians in digital, remote, and in-person formats.
• Lead the creation, review, and improvement of training content, curricula, standard operating procedures, and learning resources.
• Coordinate OEM training vendors across six regions, including completion tracking and recertification planning.
• Provide technical instruction and hands-on support covering PV and PV+BESS operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emerging technologies.
• Build repeatable, scalable, and trackable field training processes and train-the-trainer practices.
• Connect field operations personnel with the Training Team to identify capability gaps and improve training outcomes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on operations and maintenance experience at utility-scale PV or PV+BESS sites, including experience at three or more sites.
• Experience with central inverters, medium-voltage transformers, PV module issues, and PV ground-fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years of technical training, peer mentoring, or curriculum development experience, or a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• 2+ years in a senior technician role and 2+ years working for an energy corporation or utility managing multiple PV and PV+BESS sites.
• Certification from at least two central inverter manufacturers and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lead technical experts, coordinate structured learning, and travel up to 25%.

Nice to have

• Experience with learning management systems and e-learning tools such as Articulate, Captivate, or Camtasia.
• Wind or thermal energy experience.
