Backend / Fullstack Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build features for data products including Apache Superset, the AI agent for Data, and Notebooks.
• Shape AI-powered data analytics by improving the AI agent for Data and researching relevant AI practices and advancements.
• Integrate analytics products with Airbnb’s data platform, including metric infrastructure, data management systems, and data warehouse services.
• Drive projects end to end by gathering user feedback, collaborating with product managers and partner teams, and managing rollouts and migrations.
• Improve testability, observability, architecture, stability, and reliability while reviewing code and technical designs.
• Provide lightweight on-call support for users and team operations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of full-time relevant industry experience building backend or fullstack applications.
• Hands-on experience with data, SQL, data engineering, analytics engineering, or internal data application development.
• Ability to build interactive user experiences and engage directly with product users.
• Experience driving cross-functional projects through alignment, collaboration, and rollout.
• Strong focus on high-quality code, robust systems, observability, and reliability.
• Office presence is listed in Brazil, but no candidate work-location requirement is specified.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI agents, context engineering, or AI harnesses.
• Frontend expertise with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React or other modern frameworks.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Airflow, Spark, or Trino.
