Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: Canada; remote-friendly work environment with a globally distributed company operating in over 25 countries.

Salary: $147,000–$215,000 for US general locations or $167,000–$238,000 for premium US locations, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and evolve integrations with Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Develop and operate high-throughput data ingestion services at petabyte scale.
• Improve systems using operational metrics, customer feedback, and business requirements.
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to architecture decisions affecting scalability and resilience.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Go and its ecosystem.
• Experience designing scalable and fault-tolerant systems, including concurrency, consistency, and failure recovery.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture and practical experience with at least one major cloud provider.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in distributed systems.
• Clear technical communication and effective collaboration with engineering and product partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with data ingestion pipelines, streaming platforms, or object storage.
