Golang Software Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and implement performant backend services and gRPC/REST APIs in Go.
• Build cloud-native applications, CLI tools, Kubernetes controllers, and custom operators.
• Develop safe reconciliation logic and operational tooling for long-running platform environments.
• Integrate services with Kafka, NATS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and etcd.
• Implement automated tests, structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and production observability.
• Lead code and design reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to shared Go libraries and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience with Go.
• Strong understanding of Go concurrency patterns, distributed systems, networking, debugging, and performance engineering.
• Production experience with gRPC and/or REST APIs, relational and key-value data stores, and Kubernetes-native development using client-go or controller-runtime.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; eligible applicants include U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and H-1B transfer candidates.

Nice to have

• Open-source contributions to Go-based projects.
• Experience writing Kubernetes operators or controllers.
• Familiarity with eBPF, service mesh, low-level systems programming, or security-sensitive Go projects.
• Experience with WASM, TinyGo, or embedded systems.
