TL;DR
Application Engineer (Industrial Robotics): Deploying and integrating robotic automation systems for manufacturing applications such as surface treatment, painting, and welding with an accent on robot programming, offline programming, hardware integration, and commissioning. Focus on configuring complete automation cells, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting customer deployments through go-live and post-deployment training.

Location: Pflugerville, Texas, United States. The role includes on-site commissioning at customer facilities domestically and internationally and approximately 30–50% travel.

Company

hirify.global provides a software platform for deploying and integrating industrial robotic automation systems in manufacturing environments.

What you will do

  • Program and deploy industrial robots for surface treatment, painting, welding, and similar manufacturing applications.
  • Develop and validate robot programs with offline programming tools before site deployment.
  • Configure and integrate robots, end-of-arm tooling, sensors, PLCs, conveyors, safety systems, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Commission, fine-tune, troubleshoot, and hand over production-ready automation cells at customer facilities.
  • Support pre-sales activities through proof-of-concept testing, offline simulations, and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Document deployments, train end users and maintenance personnel, and provide field feedback to improve the platform.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience programming, deploying, and commissioning industrial robots such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman, or Universal Robots.
  • Proficiency with at least one offline programming tool, such as FANUC ROBOGUIDE, ABB RobotStudio, KUKA.Sim, Yaskawa MotoSim, Delfoi, or Robotmaster.
  • Practical experience integrating robots with tooling, sensors, conveyors, PLCs, and safety systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot robot mechanics, controller software, I/O, network communications, and shop-floor automation issues.
  • Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, and basic PLC ladder logic.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer deployments, estimated at 30–50%.

Nice to have

  • Experience with abrasive blasting, spray painting, thermal spray, arc welding, or spot welding.
  • Exposure to 3D scanning, point clouds, vision-guided robotics, virtual commissioning, or robot simulation environments.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD for reviewing or creating cell layouts and fixture designs.
  • Background in system integration, robot OEMs, distributors, or automation integrators.
  • A degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering technology, industrial automation, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field; 5+ years of demonstrable hands-on experience may substitute for a formal degree.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on engineering work across software, robotics, and real-world manufacturing environments.
  • Direct collaboration with customer operators, maintenance teams, engineering staff, and internal product teams.
  • Opportunity to influence product improvements through field deployment experience.
