Systems Engineer (MO)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri, United States; travel ranges from occasional two- to three-day trips to frequent one-day trips.

What you will do

• Develop control strategies, P&ID inputs, control system specifications, termination diagrams, and commissioning plans for municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Design, specify, integrate, program, and commission automation systems using PLC, HMI, DCS, and industrial communication networks.
• Lead Allen Bradley ControlLogix control system projects for a team of five engineers.
• Troubleshoot legacy Siemens Simatic 505 systems and support migrations to Rockwell PLCs with iFIX, VTScada, or Wonderware HMIs.
• Perform FAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, control panel design, bill of materials preparation, and secure control network implementation.
• Coordinate with project managers, technical engineers, customers, and company management while reporting project status, risks, and resolutions.

Requirements

• Four-year technical engineering degree or five years of relevant experience.
• At least five years of experience with Siemens Simatic 505 hardware and Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, control system design, project execution, and water and wastewater treatment plants or lift stations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical, functional, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with project, engineering, systems, operations, and field personnel and to travel as required.
• Familiarity with mission-critical infrastructure; Professional Engineer certification is a strong plus.
