Construction Defect Senior Technical Specialist

Location: Hybrid role in Tampa, Florida, United States; nationwide US locations may also be available

Annual base salary: $94,400–$155,800, plus potential sign-on bonus and performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage complex construction defect property damage claims and related litigation from first notice of loss through resolution.
• Investigate coverage, liability exposure, property damage, contractual indemnity issues, and appropriate claim reserves.
• Communicate with customers, representatives, opposing counsel, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop claim resolution strategies, coordinate internal and external resources, and manage multi-party negotiations.
• Partner with counsel on litigation management and maintain accurate claim records.
• Mentor and coach Claim Professionals while supporting new technology, AI tools, system upgrades, and digital rollouts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred for the ideal candidate; a high school diploma or GED is required.
• At least three years of bodily injury liability, property damage liability, or comparable claims experience; four years of construction defect/property damage and litigation experience is preferred.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law, with relevant insurance licenses obtained and maintained within three months of starting.
• Experience with claims management systems, enterprise technology platforms, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, customer service, conflict resolution, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Understanding of insurance principles, regulations, fair claims practices, policy language, endorsements, exclusions, and legal requirements.
