Senior Software Engineer I (AI)

What you will do

• Build and operate full-stack features across embeddable React widgets, shared TypeScript libraries, backend APIs, and services.
• Develop personal financial management products including dashboards, budgeting and spending widgets, cash-flow tools, and personalized insights.
• Design and ship LLM-powered features such as financial-data explanations and assistants, including prompt and context design, retrieval, tool calling, evaluation, and production monitoring.
• Apply privacy and security controls for sensitive financial data, including data minimization, PII redaction, access scoping, output validation, and audit logging.
• Modernize the platform by migrating from a legacy Ruby on Rails API and older front ends to TypeScript services, React, and the current design-system stack.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews, code reviews, project delivery, incident triage, testing, observability, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience and 3+ years testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• Professional full-stack experience with production React and TypeScript plus backend services or APIs in a server-side language such as Ruby or TypeScript on Node.js.
• Experience designing and consuming REST, RPC, or message-based APIs, with caching, background jobs, and asynchronous or event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience shipping at least one feature or internal tool built on a large language model API.
• Experience building automated unit, integration, contract, or end-to-end tests and operating customer-facing services.

Nice to have

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, agent or tool-use architectures, MCP, LLM evaluation, guardrails, and production monitoring of model cost, latency, and quality.
• Experience with managed model platforms such as Vertex AI, Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI.
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, Node.js, Bun, Hono, Elixir/Phoenix, PostgreSQL, Redis, NATS, RabbitMQ, or protobuf-based RPC.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or shared component libraries and design systems.
• Fintech, banking, or other regulated-data domain experience.
