Senior Hardware Test Engineer (Medtech)

Location: Boston, MA — this role is required to work from the Boston office approximately 3 days per week with flexible days and hours. In-person office hubs also available in New York and Paris.

What you will do

• Develop and execute device testing in accordance with Beacon's QMS.
• Write test plans, protocols, and scripts for embedded systems (hardware, firmware, software).
• Conduct functional, integration, system, and regression testing; develop test fixtures and equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues alongside design engineers; perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements (FDA, CE, 60601).
• Implement process improvements and test automation to enhance quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• BS in engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience (or MS with 3+ years).
• Experience writing technical specifications, test plans, protocols, and reports.
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics.
• Experience with embedded software on a real-time operating system (RTOS).
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging hardware/firmware in electromechanical systems.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of design controls and regulations for medical devices.
• Experience with Git/JIRA and GitHub.
